Happy Friday Ravenna Staff:

I hope that everyone has settled in for the brutal push through the winter.  Keep pushing the envelope and challenging your students and yourselves to be better today than you were yesterday.   Continue to work collaboratively and use each other to share the load of the awesome responsibility that we all have.

Hello Ravenna Staff:

Happy Friday and I hope that everyone has a restful or productive LONG weekend! I know that I will!

Attached is a letter that is being sent home to students in grades PreK-8. I will also do an a-lert now phone message to staff and students (PreK-12) tonight regarding the letter.

The letter details the district’s commitment to educate staff, students and community regarding the A.L.I.C.E program. The Ravenna School District will be implementing the A.L.I.C.E. program in the next few months. Staff meetings and student assemblies are being planned and will be communicated to staff in the near future.

There will be a community meeting with everyone welcome to attend next Thursday, February 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Ravenna High School Auditorium. The meeting will be presented by the Ravenna Police Department in conjunction with the school district. The information presented at the meeting will be a VERY abbreviated version of the presentation to the RSD staff on 1-17-13. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.

Please know that each of you are welcome to attend the meeting. Also, know that each school building’s staff will have a meeting with the Ravenna Police Department and be able to obtain additional information and ask any questions relative to the A.L.I.C.E. program or to the specific building. Please contact me directly with any immediate questions that you may have.

Hello Ravenna Staff:

I hope that everyone had a restful or productive weekend!

Attached you will find a letter from Mr. Doug Senseman, the Ravenna High School Student Council advisor.  If you recall several months ago, there was a time capsule discovered from 1922 at the old high school.  Mr. Senseman and the RHS Student Council would like to invite all Ravenna students, staff and community members to participate in a time capsule that would be developed now, 2013, and would be opened in 2063.  The attached letter provides details how teachers can get their students involved and what may be some ideas for teachers to work on with their students.  The letter also describes the process by which artifacts may be submitted.  Please notice the due dates.

I hope everyone is able to make this week a great one!
