Hello Ravenna Staff: I have to tell all of you that I am very impressed with the level of professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm that I witnessed and experienced on Monday.  I had the opportunity to stop in on many of the “Testing Werks” sessions as well as all of the H.S. break out sessions relative to raising student achievement via high expectations.  The questions and level of professional conversation was inspiring!  I encourage each of us to continue pushing and challenging ourselves, our colleagues and especially our students to reach beyond what we believe to be the potential!  I hope everyone has a restful or productive weekend!

Hello Ravenna Staff: I hope that everyone had a good week as we were winding down the first semester.  Hopefully we are all gearing up for a productive second semester.  I know that there is good work going on at all buildings.  I would encourage all of us to “power through” these next several months and really continue your focused instruction and assessment which will benefit all of our students as they prepare for their standardized tests.  I don’t believe that many of us are big advocates of standardized testing but at this point, that is what our students and staff are judged on.  Stay positive and stay together!  Have an enjoyable Friday and weekend!

Hello Ravenna Staff: Rough day today! Between the “close call” this morning on closing school or not to close, the “Friday the 13th” enigma and the numerous “full moons” this week, TGIF!!! At this point, that is all that I have! Be safe, warm and enjoy the additional day off. Join me in re-charging over the weekend as we continue to move forward with our work next week.

Welcome Back Ravenna Staff: Welcome back! I hope that everyone had a restful or productive break and is ready to “hit the ground running”. We have much work to accomplish if we are going to raise our student’s academic performance for this year. I am very pleased to see the administrative and teaching staffs working together to identify problem areas and implement solutions to benefit our students. As I indicated in my Christmas message, little daily changes and improvements can lead to long term success. I would encourage all of us (myself included) to continue to set high goals for ourselves and especially our students. Children are amazingly resilient and they are hungry for consistency, challenges, rewards and praise. Have a great weekend!
