What better way to educate the incoming freshman (aka current 8th graders,) than to connect them with upperclassmen who have experienced all that RHS has to offer? RHS Service Learning class planned “8th Grade Day” for February 17, 2022 at Ravenna High School and enlisted the assistance of the Senior Entrepreneur class, PAC and a panel of seniors from the Ravenna Civics class in making the day a success.
On 8th Grade Day, the 8th graders were able to learn about RHS through a variety of events including:
Taking the online Accuplacer Assessment for CCP opportunities
Tours of RHS by upperclassmen
Lunch (Pizza!)
After Lunch, students rotated through a variety of student-planned stations:
“What I Wish I Knew” talk by Ravenna Civics Seniors
Stress Relief Stations in the LMC
Teamwork-building Activities
Scheduling: requirements and electives with the RHS School Counselors
Extra Curricular Fair with the PAC (Principal’s Advisory Committee students)
