Fourth Graders Learn History of Macy’s Day Parade with a STEM Project

Fourth graders at West Main Elementary had a  “Macy’s Day Parade”.   In science, the students have been working on a STEM project to design a balloon for the parade and learning the history of the Macy’s Day Parade that started in 1924.   In language Arts, the students learned about the history of Ravenna and the Oak Rubber Company.  The students learned that Oak Rubber Company was the world’s largest maker of toy balloons in the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s.
