RHS Student Council Exceeds Blood Drive Goal

Feb 26, 2021

The Ravenna High School Student Council conducted their Spring Blood Drive on Tuesday, February 23rd.  They annually host a Fall and Spring Blood Drive. The Red Cross set a goal for Student Council to enroll enough donors to achieve the successful collection of 24 pints of blood.

Social media, personal contacts, and in-school registrations were utilized in an effort to achieve their goal.  Student Council knew this would be a challenging year due to COVID and remote learners reducing the school population. They promoted the need for blood donations to assist members of our local community and emphasized that potential donors who had had COVID could provide antibodies to assist four other community members fighting this disease.

We are proud to announce that the Student Council met and exceeded their goal of 24 blood donations.   Forty donors were registered and Student Council was awarded a $500 bonus to provide scholarships to senior Student Council members.
