One of the recent assignments for Service Learning class was to choose a “cause” or project, and present a compelling “pitch” to classmates to gain support. While we had many great ideas and causes, not all of them fit the limitations of our class. One great project that did fit our parameters was to collect gently used toys, games, puzzles, and books; clean and sanitize them and check for parts and instructions; and then to redistribute them to Ravenna area agencies and organizations where there is a need. Students have been checking and cleaning the donations around other assignments and today were able to donate three boxes of games and puzzles to PMHA for use with their Homework Buddies program and a basket of books for their Little Free Libraries. Way to go!!!
