Tree Planting at West Main Elementary

Dec 13, 2021

Mrs. Cross’s science classes worked with the Ravenna Shade Tree Commission to plant two trees at West Main Elementary.  The students researched various types of trees and learned why trees are so important to our environment.  In STEM, the students created a project to protect a sapling.  To further our study of trees, in art class, the students designed and painted trees, and in language arts, they wrote an informational report about birch and oak trees. Our students were very proud to be a part of this project.  Mayor Frank Seman, Kay Dubinsky, Jim Jenkins and Karen Wise came to talk with our students and present the proclamation to our school.
