At Brown Middle School, Black History Month is being celebrated in many ways! Mrs. Coyle and Ms. Dreger have highlighted inspirational quotes on their bulletin board for the 2nd Semester. They are focusing on quotes from famous African-Americans throughout February. When students in Mrs. Fashing’s 5th grade Math class finish their mastery grid before the deadline, they have the option of creating a lesson plan and teaching the class for a day. Matthew Boyd is shown below holding his chromebook with a slideshow he created because he was the “teacher” in math class recently. Matthew chose to research and create a slide about an African American mathematician as part of his slideshow.
