Transportation to Childcare Facilities

The Ravenna School District will be providing transportation to all community child care facilities on our regularly scheduled elementary bus routes during the 2022-2023 school year:

RAVENNA PRE-SCHOOL THROUGH 6TH GRADE STUDENTS can be transported to any of the community child care centers; Amanda’s Garden, Ravenna Christian Academy & Tots Learning Center.

Our primary concern is for the safety and welfare of students while being transported. Safe, efficient transportation is a joint effort between the bus drivers, school staff, administrators, parents and students. We look forward to providing this service to our Ravenna families.

The Ravenna School District’s transportation department is housed at 703 Oakwood Street. The $500,000 transportation building features two large bays for bus maintenance and repair for the district’s 27 buses and 5 school vans.  We have an equipment room, and meeting and office space to accommodate 40 employees. The district was able to save $700,000 by renovating existing space at the former Ohio Department of Transportation complex instead of constructing a new building as originally planned. In addition, shared fuel storage space with the city will allow for more savings.

Interesting Facts!

  • We run 20 bus routes daily & 3-4 van routes
  • 1,250 students utilize our services.
  • We cover 1,200 miles daily.
  • An additional 30,000 miles are traveled annually for field trips.
