Andrea Lynn Parshall

Athletic Accomplishments

Andrea graduated from Ravenna High School in 1995 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was involved in many school sports including soccer, cross country and tennis; however, she is most remembered for her natural talent as a basketball player. Andrea is a four year letter winner and holds the following RHS girls basketball records: single game scoring with 34 points; career scoring with 1201 points; season steals with 152; career steals with 441; single season 3’s with 36; career 3’s with 119; career assists with 336. Andrea was named the Associated Press Division II All Ohio Third Team and All Portage County first Team her junior and senior year. Her jersey number was retired in May, 1995 to recognize her athletic accomplishments. Upon graduating, Andrea enrolled in the University of Akron and became an assistant coach at Wadsworth High School, working with former head coaches, Judge Thomas Carnes and Todd Osborn. Andrea graduated from the University of Akron in 2002 with a BA in Mass Media. In December of 2005, Andrea graduated with a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Ohio State University. She accepted a job as an intervention specialist at Alternative’s Unlimited, working with at-risk children. She became the freshmen girls’ basketball coach for Westerville Central High School. She would lead her team to beat rival Pickerington for the first time in school history. In June of 2007, Andrea moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where she is still working with at-risk children.
