Sheila is a 1966 graduate of Ravenna High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Art Club, High Times Staff, Pep Club, Quill and Scroll, Girls Athletic Association and received the “Outstanding Art Award” in both her junior and senior years. Sheila continued her education by attending Akron University and studying under artists Jack Richards, Mark Moon, John Smolko and Dan Green. In the field of art, Sheila has distinguished herself both locally and nationally. Her paintings are in private and corporate collections located in Ohio, West Virginia, Florida, Wyoming, Mississippi and England. Her miniature paintings have been on exhibit numerous times, including an international exhibit at the Georgia Miniature Art Society of Marietta, Georgia. Locally, she has designed program booklets for the Chamber of Commerce Home Tour, Ravenna Rotary, Stoneridge Charity Christmas Walk, Portage County Travel and Tourism and the Ravenna Balloon A-Fair. She also designed the “official” Balloon A-Fair pin. Sheila has won awards from the Hudson Art Show On-the-Green, Cuyahoga Art Center, Studio of Jack Richards, Montana Miniature Painting Society and the “best of show” at the Alliance Art Festival in 1989, for her portrait of “Old Man”. Sheila has owned and operated the Rose Gallery of Ravenna and currently is a self-employed artist doing commercial work. Her artful contributions to the Ravenna Ravens’ Hall of Fame since its inception in 1989 has endured her to the hearts of her community.
