Academic and Career Accomplishments

A 1929 Graduate of Ravenna High School, Angelo Sicuro is now Editor Emeritus of the Ravenna Record Courier. A firm believer in the work ethic, as a boy in his native Ravenna, Angelo had the city’s largest Sunday paper route. He was appointed Editor of the Record Courier in 1934 and during his fifty-four year career worked in various capacities. His service to the community is unending, and included the organization of the County Independent Basketball League in 1920, a twenty-five year chairmanship of the Ravenna City Recreation Commission, Director of the Ravenna Boys’ Club, a charter member of the Ravenna Jaycees – receiving the Jaycees Outstanding Citizenship Award, a member of Ravenna Rotary Club for over fifty-five years, as well as their president and a life member of Ravenna Chamber of Commerce. Active in many functions, he helped organize the Ravenna Boosters Club and raised money to buy the first lights at the old Ravenna High School stadium. Angelo Sicuro is content to love Ravenna and its’ people and feels proud and privileged to serve them.
