Attorney Joseph Giulitto

Academic and Career Accomplishments

Joseph Giulitto was born in Bitritto, Bari, Italy and at age eleven, arrived in the United States. He graduated from Ravenna High School in 1954, where he was active in the National Forensic League, served as its president and finished second in the state in debate competition. He was elected to the National Student Congress and was Speaker of the House of Representatives for three consecutive years, at both the district and national levels. Mr. Giulitto obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kent State University, graduating cum laude in 1958. He furthered his education at Case Western Reserve in the studies of law and graduated with an L.L.B. in 1961. Joe opened his private law practice in July of 1961. In addition to his law practice, he also served as Police Prosecutor and then Law Director for the City of Kent for nine years. Mr. Giulitto is a past member of the Ravenna Jaycees, Ravenna Rotary, Board of Trustees/Legal Advisor for Hattie Larlham Foundation and was a member of the Board of Directors for First Federal Savings and Loan. He is a member of the Robinson Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and has served as Chairman since 1993. He is also a member of the Portage County Bar Association , Ohio State Bar Association and the Ravenna Elks. The Portage County Bar Association recently honored him for being an attorney for forty years. Currently, Mr. Giulitto lives in Kent with his wife, Jean, and enjoys practicing law with his children Michael and Paula Giulitto.
