Major Contribution to Ravenna Schools
Bruce Ribelin is a 1967 RHS graduate and following high school earned a BS in Education from Ashland College and Master’s degree in secondary administration from Kent State University. Bruce worked in several high schools before returning to finish his career at Ravenna High School where he was a Social Studies Teacher and Department Chairperson. Bruce has dedicated his time to school levies; helping sell PSL, when building the current RHS Stadium; has registered student voters; helped build Chestnut Hills Playground; currently serves on the CAC Board of Directors; is President of St. Paul Lutheran Church council; has served on the organizing committee for Art on Main; has organized tours for the Ravenna City Bicentennial; is a lifetime member of the NAACP; has served on the Ravenna Civil Service committee and worked for the Board of Elections; and has been recognized by Ravenna Chamber of Commerce (with Lucy) for a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Lucy Ribelin is a 1967 RHS graduate and graduated in the top five of her class. Lucy graduated from OSU College of Pharmacy in 1971 after developing her interest in Pharmacy while working at Fowlers Drug in high school and continued her Pharmacy career working at Triangle Pharmacy, John’s Pharmacy, Revco and CVS Pharmacy. Lucy’s many contributions to the community include serving on the Visiting Nurse Board; Ravenna Farmer’s Market founding Board; is a Clothing Center volunteer; is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Council, serving as president of congregation and leading service day projects; served as a PTO officer at Highland Elementary School; helped with Carnivals and Pre-School Mothers; served as Co-chair numerous levy committees, is treasurer of current levy group for Ravenna Schools; serves on the Board of Health; led transition of Ravenna Health Department to join Portage Combined Health District and is current president of board; is a past board member of Raven Packs and current volunteer; and has been recognized by Ravenna Chamber of Commerce (with Bruce) for a Lifetime Achievement Award.
