Kyla Hogan Daniels

Athletic Accomplishments

Kyla Hogan Daniels graduated from Ravenna High School in 2002. She was a two year member of the National Honor Society and ranked ninth in her class for academic accomplishments. Kyla was also recognized as an All-Academic Scholar Athlete twelve times. She earned twelve varsity letters in basketball, track, cross country and soccer. As a four year starter in basketball, Kyla was named First Team AII-WRC point guard. three times, was a member of the Tri-County All Star Team, a two-time All-Portage County First Team Selection, a two time Third Team All-District, a team captain for one year and MVP for two years. Her career statistics included 863 points, 392 rebounds and 368 steals. In soccer, Kyla was named First Team WRC, the team’s MVP for one year and was selected into the Greater Akron All Star Team. In track, she was All WRC Honorable Mention for 3 years, AII-WRC Second Team her senior year, MVP for one year, Regional Qualifier in the 800 meter run for two years and received the Portage County Track Officials Ralph Quesinberry Award. Kyla was named Ravenna High School Female Athlete of the Year in 2002.

Kyla graduated from the University of Mount Union, Magma Cum Laude in 2006, with a major in Exercise Science and a minor in Biology. While at Mount Union, she lettered four years in basketball, three times as a starter. She was named Second Team AII-OAC as a senior and was a three- time All-Academic OAC First Team Selection. She was named team MVP in 2005-2006, and received the Clyde Lamb Award as Outstanding Female Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2006. Her career statistics included 915 points, 460 rebounds, 298 steals and 272 assists. Kyla led the OAC in steals in both her junior and senior years and in 2004, finished second in the nation in Division Ill with 116 steals. After graduating from the University of Mount Union, Kyla received a graduate assistant scholarship to Ball State University receiving a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from Ball State University in 2008. She currently lives with her husband, Lee, (RHS class of 2000) and son, Trey.
