A 1971 graduate of Ravenna High School, Rick Coe attended Kent State University and graduated in 1977. While still a student at Kent State, Rick secured his first position in the banking industry with First National Bank and Trust Company. Starting as a courier, Rick worked his way through the installment loans and Visa Departments before becoming the bank’s youngest administrator in 1978 at the age of 25. He continued his rise in the banking industry through the seventies and eighties holding the positions of Loan Officer, Security Officer, Main Office Supervisor, Vice President and Manager of Bank One’s Community Banking Division. Following these notable accomplishments, Rick worked to establish the Portage Community Bank. Founded in 1998, Portage Community Bank was the recipient of the first Bank Charter awarded to the Ravenna Community in 60 years. Currently Rick holds the position of President and Chief Executive Officer at the bank. While these career achievements are in and of themselves stellar, Rick has also been an active community volunteer. He has been active in the Portage County United Way since 1983 serving on the board and coordinating many fund raising campaigns. Rick is also a long standing member of the Ravenna Chamber of Commerce starting with his election to the Board of Directors in 1986. He has volunteered his time to the Ravenna Rotary, the Immaculate Conception Home and School Association, the Red Cross and the Boy Scouts. Rick has also been active in many school district activities and events.
