Athletic Accomplishments

A 1977 graduate of Ravenna High School and a graduate of Kent State University in 1982, Steve returned to the Ravenna City School District to teach high school Industrial Technology and to coach the high school wrestling team. While a student at Ravenna High School, Steve placed second in the State Wrestling Tournament in his sophomore year, third in his junior year, and was the State Champion in his senior year. A three time sectional and district wrestling champion, Steve was also a Metro League selection in football. As a four year letterman in wrestling at Kent State University, Steve was selected as the most valuable wrestler in his junior and senior years and placed four times in the MAC tournament, winning the tournament in his senior year. Steve became Kent State University’s first wrestler to win 100 matches…a record that still stands! Recipient of KSU’s distinguished Begala award, Steve placed sixth in the NCAA tournament and received All-American status. Today, Steve Reedy is a role model teacher and coach. His undefeated 1989-90 Metro League Championship Wrestling Team posted a winning record of 35 wins and 3 losses. Steve is a prime example of what an individual with ability and intense competitiveness can achieve in athletics and life.
