Vincent A. DiGirolamo

Academic and Career Accomplishments

After graduation from Ravenna High School in 1955, Vincent entered Ohio University where he earned his BS degree in Commerce in 1959. He also graduated from the Stonier School of Banking, Rutgers University, in 1973; attended the Graduate Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma, and the Consumer Banking School at the University of Virginia. In 1960, Vincent joined National City Bank of Akron as a Collector in the Installment Loan Department. He was appointed Loan Officer in 1963. In 1969, Vincent was promoted to Vice President and Manager of Consumer Credit, then Senior Vice President in 1976. Vincent’s next promotions were to Executive Vice President in 1978, and President, Chairman and CEO of National City Bank, Akron, in 1981. In late summer of 1991, National City Corporation merged with Merchants National Corporation and Vincent served as program chairman. On May 2, 1992, Mr. DiGirolamo was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Merchants National Bank and National Corporation, now National City Bank, Indiana. Since moving to Indiana, Mr. DiGirolamo has served on many boards and civic organizations including: Community Hospitals Foundation, The Indiana Economic Development Council, 500 Festival Associates, Inc., the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, Corporate Community Council, The Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, and the Indiana Repertory Theatre. Vincent DiGirolamo has made his hometown proud as he has risen to the pinnacle of the banking industry “the hard way” and has always remembered his roots in Ravenna.
