Principal’s Message

It’s hard to believe that we are already halfway through the school year.  It has been a great first half and students have worked diligently to make gains academically.  Middle school is the time when students begin to find themselves and grow as individuals and that is very evident at BMS.  Students are much taller than they were at the beginning of the school year and stretching their minds at a rate that they didn’t think possible.

With the second half of the year starting, we are now beginning to focus more heavily on state testing preparations and end of the year items.  We will begin our first set of state testing on April 12th.  We will start with ELA.  As we get closer to testing time, resources will be sent home about how to help prepare your students to do their best on the state test.  Students are being prepared to show what they know and rock the test!!!!

Middle school to high school transition events will be happening soon for our 8th grade students.  They will need to start thinking about what classes they would like to take at the high school and will have the opportunity to visit and tour.  High school counselors will be coming down to the middle school to help with scheduling so students can ask questions before making final decisions.

It’s a great time to be a middle schooler at BMS.  Lots of excitement and fun going on.  We encourage families to speak with your students about all of the things they are learning and doing in class.  As always feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions.
