Greetings to all BMS Families!
I would like to thank all BMS families for collaborating with our school staff to make this past school year the best experience it could be for our students given the extraordinary circumstances we faced. Unlike many other Ohio communities, our district offered a 5-day per week in-person learning experience. Our in-person learners were diligent with mask wearing, social distancing, and hand washing. We asked our in-person students to adjust to our new normal this past school year, and they exceeded our expectations with their compliance with new protocols. We created a remote learning option for families that felt more comfortable with their child(ren) staying home rather than entering our buildings. Our remote students rose to the occasion and interacted with our teachers over Google Meets. We collaborated with families throughout the year to successfully transition over 100 students back to in-person learning over the course of the school year. Our teachers rose to the occasion and offered a synchronous learning experience all year with students both in their classrooms and online via Google. Our staff and students worked together to make this school year the success it was.
Now, we look forward to a return to a sense of normalcy within our building. We look forward to all of our students returning to the in-person learning experience. We look forward to our students using their lockers again and congregating with friends at appropriate times to enjoy the sense of camaraderie and family that comes with the BMS experience. We look forward to seeing our students’ faces again and they seeing ours, as it is quite difficult to show someone a smile from behind a mask. We look forward to a return of full recess where students can go outside with all of their peers and enjoy that much needed break from their studies. We look forward to continuing our work with technology that was implemented during the pandemic. Google Classroom and the educational tools associated with Google will continue to be used by our staff and students. These tools are great resources, and will continue to assist us when our students need to miss school for needed absences throughout the school year. We look forward, rather than backward, with a sense of appreciation for the little things and the life experiences that we were all robbed of over the past year. The future is bright for our BMS family!
