Principal’s Message
I am so very proud to be the building principal at Brown Middle School. At BMS, we take every opportunity to build positive relationships with every person in the building. Our goal is to ensure that every student knows that there is a trusted adult in the building that they can go to when they have an issue.
At BMS, we have implemented many programs to ensure that our students excel both emotionally and academically. At the end of each day, we have an advisory period. What occurs during this time is broken down according to the day.
Monday: MOSAIC lessons through ACT
- These lessons teach students about resiliency, having grit, and other important life skills.
Tuesday-Thursday: Interventions/Enrichment
- Students receive additional support in core classes where they struggle.
- Students who do not need additional support are provided with enrichment opportunities.
Friday: Passion Fridays
- Teachers share something that they enjoy doing outside of class with students. Students are then able to select from these passions and work with the teachers to learn about these skills. This includes anything from fishing to cooking.
Each year, our goal is to make BMS better than the year before. Creating a school climate and culture where students feel welcomed and safe is the top priority of every adult in the building.
I count it a privilege to have the opportunity to serve as Principal, and I thank you for allowing us the opportunity to educate your child.
Please feel free to reach out at any time if you need anything.
