Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are so excited to start the new year and hear the sound of students in the hallways.  Each year brings new beginnings and that is especially true this year.  Our fifth graders won’t be the only new faces in the building.  One of those new faces is my own.

As a proud 1995 graduate of Ravenna High School, I am truly humbled to have the opportunity to serve as the Brown Middle School principal. We will continue the Ravenna tradition of providing students with an education that prepares students for high school and beyond.  Students will be exposed to classroom environments that are exciting, student focused, rigorous and engaging.

Middle school is a time when you begin to realize your full potential and start thinking about future endeavors.  Here at Brown Middle School, each staff member knows that they are a part of molding the next generation of leaders.  We will continue to provide Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) during Raven Pride Time (RPT) to coincide with academic lessons.  Students will also be given the opportunity to see that school can be fun by participating in pep rallies, school dances, and field trips.

Brown Middle School is a great school full of great people! This is going to be a wonderful year full of learning and extracurricular activities.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you all and thank you for allowing us the privilege to be a part of your child’s educational journey.  Go Ravens!

Sincerely,

Catrina Burwell, Principal
