Don M. Wilson, III

Academic and Career Accomplishments

Don Matthew Wilson, III was born January 24, 1948 in Ravenna to Don M. and Helen Jane (Strimple) Wilson. His paternal grandparents were D.M. and Willa Wave (Wertenberger) Wilson of Ravenna and his maternal grandparents were Ross B. and Helen (Reed) Strimple of Kent. His maternal great-grandfather was W.W. Reed of Kent. Mr. Wilson’s ancestors have been engaged in farming, commerce and education in northeastern Ohio for more than two centuries and his forebearers can be traced to Pilgrim New England and the American Revolution. Mr. Wilson, the eldest of five sons, graduated from Ravenna High School in 1966 as Valedictorian and participated in both athletic and academic extracurricular activities. He received further education at Harvard University where he earned an A.B. Degree cum laude in 1970 and at the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College where he earned an M.B.A. Degree in 1973. Since 1973 Mr. Wilson has been employed at Chemical Bank in New York where he has had diverse responsibilities including resident senior management assignments in San Francisco, Tokyo and London. He is currently a Senior Managing Director in the Bank’s Capital Markets & Treasury Division. Chemical Bank is the nation’s third largest bank. Mr. Wilson married Lynn Suzanne Byron of McLean, Virginia, October 13, 1984. They have three children, James Matthew (February 12, 1989), William Ross Reid (June 9, 1990, deceased September 18, 1990), and Charlotte Suzanne (March 16, 1992). The family resides in New York.
